The invention relates to the technical field of measuring instruments, and particularly relates to a detection device for measuring the hole distance and depth in a ditch. The detection device comprises a machine body and a detection cavity which is located in the machine body and provided with a downward opening, wherein a detection block is fixedly arranged on the end wall of the rear side of the detection cavity, and a detection device body for detecting the width of the ditch through left-right reciprocating movement of two detection rods which are in bilateral symmetry is arranged in thedetection block; and a first transmission cavity is formed in the end wall of the upper side of the detection cavity, and a moving device is arranged in the first transmission cavity. According to thedetection device, the depth of the waterless ditch is judged by detecting the moving length of a threaded rod through up-down movement of the threaded rod, the detection device moves and advances into the next detection area after measurement is completed, the width change of the ditch is recorded through reciprocating movement of the two detection rods in the moving process, and meanwhile garbage in the ditch is collected through a cleaning device in the advancing process to prevent the garbage from affecting the detection result.
