The invention relates to a drainage structure for highway engineering. The drainage structure comprises an impermeable asphalt layer arranged on a highway foundation, a waterproof layer arranged on the impermeable asphalt layer, a permeable asphalt layer arranged on the waterproof layer, a road shoulder arranged on the side face of the permeable asphalt layer and a drainage ditch communicated withthe lower portion of the road shoulder. The drainage structure has the beneficial effects that rainwater rapidly infiltrates into the ground through the permeable asphalt layer and rapidly flows awaythrough the drainage ditch, no water is stored on the ground, and driving safety is facilitated.
