The soft soil foundation structure comprises a soft soil foundation, a box-type foundation and a roadbed, the soft soil foundation is provided with a groove, the box-type foundation is arranged in the groove, the box-type foundation is of a hollow structure, and the roadbed covers the upper surface of the box-type foundation. The sum of the weight of the roadbed, the weight borne by the roadbed and the weight of the box-type foundation is equal to the weight of soft soil dug out of the groove part of the soft soil foundation. The construction method of the soft soil foundation structure comprises the following steps that construction preparation is conducted, and the box-type foundation is designed;a part of soft soil in the soft soil foundation is dug to form the groove; the box-type foundation is poured in the groove, so that the outer wall of the box-type foundation is attached to the soft soil foundation; and the roadbed is paved on the box-type foundation, and compaction treatment is conducted. According to the soft soil foundation structure and the construction method thereof, the additional stress of the roadbed on the soft soil foundation can be eliminated, so that the roadbed does not generate vertical settlement, the box-type foundation can also be used as an underground comprehensive pipe gallery, and the underground space is fully utilized.
