The invention provides a protection method for traffic accidents. The protection method is realized based on a protective guard plate mechanism, and the protective guard plate mechanism comprises a base, a protective net storage cavity and a buffer slide block; the rear end surface of the base is connected with a group of guardrails through four groups of bottom connecting rods; every two adjacentgroups of guardrails are connected through the multiple groups of side connecting rods; two groups of oil pressure buffers are arranged on the inner sides of the lower parts of the base and the guardrails; and in a normal state, the base is fixedly connected with the guardrails through bolts. By arranging the protective net, the vehicle is protected, and the vehicle is prevented from falling offfrom the gap after rushing out of the road surface; the device protects the vehicle in a multi-stage protection blocking mode, thereby preventing the vehicle from rushing out of the road surface and falling off to cause tragedies, and greatly improving safety; and the device is small in occupied space, low in manufacturing cost and suitable for large-scale popularization.
