The invention relates to the technical field of building shock absorption, and discloses a frequency modulation mass damper capable of being modularly assembled. The mass damper comprises connecting plates, a mass block, springs, guide rods, guide rod shaft supports, viscous dampers, magnets and C-shaped copper plates; the guide rods penetrate through the mass block and the springs on the upper side and the lower side; the guide rod shaft supports are fixed to the two ends of each guide rod and are fixed to the connecting plates; the static ends of the viscous dampers on two sides are fixed tothe connecting plates and the movable ends are fixed with the mass block; the magnets are adsorbed on the side surface of the mass block; two ends of the C-shaped copper plates are fixed with the connecting plates on two sides; and the magnet on each side and the corresponding C-shaped copper plate form a set of eddy current assembly. A modular design is adopted, the device can be used separately, or multiple devices can be used in an assembled mode.
