The invention relates to an automatic calender. The calender comprises a bottom frame, two vertical rails, a main machine and a plastering plate, wherein the two vertical rails are installed on the bottom frame, and the main machine can move up and down along the two vertical rails; the bottom edge of the front surface of the plastering plate is a lower calendaring edge, and the top edge of the front surface of the plastering plate is an upper calendaring edge; the calender further comprises an upper telescopic mechanism and a lower telescopic mechanism, one end of the upper telescopic mechanism is hinged to the main machine, and the other end of the upper telescopic mechanism extends to the front of the main machine and is hinged to the back face of the plastering plate; and one end of the lower telescopic mechanism is fixed to the main machine, and the other end of the lower telescopic mechanism extends to the front of the main machine and is hinged to the back face of the plasteringplate. The automatic calender has the characteristics of being low in production cost, capable of automatically calendering plastered wall surfaces, low in labor intensity of workers, high in calendering efficiency and the like. The invention further relates to a calendaring method. The calendaring method has the characteristics of being simple and rapid in calendaring process, convenient to operate, good in wall surface calendaring effect and the like.
