The invention discloses an expansion joint sealing rubber strip and application thereof. The sealing rubber strip comprises a sealing strip body of a strip-shaped structure and a plurality of parallelside sealing strips arranged on the two axial sides of the sealing strip body, wherein the side sealing strips extend in the axial direction of the sealing strip body. The expansion joint sealing rubber strip can be used for sealing expansion joints of concrete highway pavements or railway concrete bases. The sealing rubber strip is reasonable in design; and due to the side sealing rubber stripsarranged on the two sides of the sealing rubber strip body, the sealing rubber strip has a unique fishbone-shaped structure, the side sealing rubber strips on the two sides of a product are tightly attached to the two sides of a concrete expansion joint during installation, and a good sealing effect is achieved.
