The invention discloses a river channel embankment ecological protection foot. The ecological protection foot comprises a gabion mesh pad and a planting groove, wherein the gabion mesh pad is laid atthe foot of a river channel, the planting groove and the gabion mesh pad are arranged adjacently, the planting groove is formed between a levee slope of the river channel and the gabion mesh pad, sandy cobbles are laid at the bottom of the planting groove, a river channel dredging material is laid above the sandy cobbles, and landscape plants are planted in the river dredging material. According to the ecological protection foot, the gabion mesh pad achieves protection of the river channel embankment foot, the landscape plants in the planting groove achieve reproduction of ecological characteristics, and therefore the problem that in the prior art, protection and ecological characteristics cannot be considered at the same time is practically solved.
