The invention relates to a novel cantilever crane luffing mechanism, the luffing mechanism is used for controlling unfolding and folding of a cantilever crane and comprises a rotary table, a first knuckle arm and a first knuckle arm oil cylinder, the first knuckle arm is hinged to the rotary table, one end of the first knuckle arm oil cylinder is hinged to the first knuckle arm, the novel cantilever crane luffing mechanism further comprises a supporting frame and a connecting rod, one end of the connecting rod is hinged to the first knuckle arm, the other end of the connecting rod is hinged tothe supporting frame, one end of the supporting frame is hinged to the rotary table, the other end of the supporting frame is hinged to the other end of the first knuckle arm oil cylinder, and the first knuckle arm oil cylinder is arranged above the first knuckle arm. According to the novel cantilever crane luffing mechanism, due to the fact that the first knuckle arm oil cylinder is arranged above the first knuckle arm, the problem that in the prior art, a first knuckle arm oil cylinder is arranged below a first knuckle arm, and consequently the length design of a second knuckle arm and thelength design of a third knuckle arm are limited is solved.
