The invention discloses an artificial stone material for manufacturing a counter basin and a preparation method of the artificial stone material. The artificial stone material is characterized by being prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 50-150 parts of unsaturated polyester resin; 30-70 parts of aluminum hydroxide powder; 150-250 parts of marble powder; 0.5-1.5 parts ofa curing agent; 1-3 parts of an accelerant; 0.5-1.5 parts of a pigment; and 5-15 parts of wood fiber; the wood fiber and the pearl powder are added into the artificial stone material, so that the toughness and the glossiness of the artificial stone are greatly improved, and meanwhile, the artificial stone material also has good durability and stability, so that the counter basin made of the material is bright, attractive, not easy to crack and long in service life.
