The glass curtain wall structure comprises a keel and a panel; the keel comprises a plurality of vertically-arranged mounting stand columns; connecting grooves are symmetrically formed in the sides, close to the panel, of each mounting stand column; a connecting mechanism is arranged in each connecting groove; position fixing grooves are further formed in the side, close to the panel, of each mounting stand column; position fixing mechanisms corresponding to the position fixing grooves are symmetrically arranged on the side, close to the keel, of the panel; and first connecting plates movably connected with the connecting mechanisms are symmetrically arranged on the outer sides of the two ends of eachposition fixing mechanism. According to the glass curtain wall structure and the construction method thereof, the panel can be installed on the keel only through external force, the first connectingplates and the connecting mechanisms are firmly clamped, meanwhile, the position fixing mechanisms and the position fixing grooves are matched to further guarantee the mounting stability of the panel,the situation that the panel suddenly falls off in the dismounting process is avoided, the dismounting process is quite safe and reliable, dismounting and mounting are very convenient, and the operation is easy.
