The method includes the steps that S1, dangerous rock of a mine side slope is cleaned, and the slope surface is leveled; S2, a reinforcinglayer used for stabilizing the slope surface is fixedly arranged on the mine side slope; S3, plant growing grooves are fixedly arranged for cultivating green plants on the reinforcing layer; S4, the plant growing grooves are filled with biomass nutrient soil; and S5, the green plants are planted in the plant growing grooves, and a drip irrigation system is arranged. According to the mine side slope ecological restoration method, a prefabricated reinforcing mesh is anchored on a mountain of the leveled mine side slope through anchor rods, and then concrete is sprayed to the reinforcing mesh toform the stable integrated reinforcing layer, so that the slope surface structure of the mine side slope is reinforced, and natural disasters such as rockfall, landslide and debris flow are effectively avoided; and the multiple plant-growing grooves which are arranged in the longitudinal step shape are fixedly mounted on the reinforcing layer of the mine side slope, and the green plants are planted in the plant-growing grooves, so that the ecological landscape of the mine side slope is restored and is coordinated with the surrounding environment.
