The invention relates to a kitchen air monitoring and purifying method and system. The kitchen air monitoring and purifying method comprises the steps: monitoring the air quality information in a kitchen in real time; and controlling the working states of a range hood, ventilation equipment, an electric window and a stove in the kitchen according to the air quality information. By means of the kitchen air monitoring and purifying method, harmful gas in the kitchen can be monitored, the harmful gas generated in the kitchen can be exhausted more quickly and accurately, the exhaust air rate of the corresponding area is adjusted by distinguishing the amount of the harmful gas in different areas, and the problems of energy waste and overlarge noise caused by completely starting exhaust equipment are avoided.
