The invention relates to a device for testing the anti-tripping bearing capacity of an armor block. The device comprises a counter-force support, a pulley, a force transmission line and a force application mechanism used for applying the bearing capacity, the counter-force support is arranged above the armor block, and the pulley is arranged on a top main beam of the counter-force support; one endof the force transmission line is connected with the armor block, and the other end of the force transmission line penetrates through the pulley and then is connected with the force application mechanism. The invention further provides a method for testing the anti-tripping bearing capacity of the armor block. According to the device for testing the anti-tripping bearing capacity of the armor block and testing the method thereof, the anti-tripping bearing capacity of the armor block is effectively tested, the structure is relatively simple, and the applicability is high.
