The invention discloses a self-cleaning glaze for a porcelain insulator. The self-cleaning glaze is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 10 parts of quartzite, 10 parts of kaolin, 6 parts of limestone, 6 parts of sandstone, 5 parts of talc, 5 parts of wollastonite, 2 parts of zinc oxide, 1 part of a cosolvent, 2 parts of mica, 1 part of thermoplastic resin, 0.5 part of boron phosphide, 0.5 part of an emulsifier, 0.5 part of a defoaming agent and 0.5 part of an emulsion stabilizer. Boron phosphide is added into the self-cleaning glaze of the porcelain insulator to improve high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, polyethylene is added into the glaze to improve low-temperature resistance of the surface of the porcelain insulator, and the porcelain insulator can be guaranteed to work normally and is not affected by severe environment when encountering external severe weather. The mica is added into the self-cleaning glaze of the porcelain insulator, sothat the insulation and high-temperature resistance of the porcelain insulator are greatly improved, and the porcelain insulator can be effectively prevented from being damaged by the influence of current when a cable leaks electricity.
