The invention provides a construction method of a water conservancy project protecting slope supporting structure. The construction method comprises the following steps: polygonal lower-layer protective bricks with positive even numbers are uniformly paved, and the edges of two adjacent lower-layer protective bricks are aligned; two inhaul cables are crossed vertically and horizontally and are embedded into communicating grooves for the inhaul cables; the inhaul cables are in net shapes and are embedded into the multiple lower-layer communicating grooves; a lower fixing piece is inserted intoa lower fixing hole, and the inhaul cables are fixed; the upper-layer protective bricks are placed on the lower-layer protective bricks in an involution manner, wherein the edges of the upper-layer protective bricks and the lower-layer protective bricks are aligned; an upper-layer communicating groove is aligned with a lower-layer communicating groove; and the upper-layer protective bricks and thelower-layer protective bricks are fixed together by using a large fixing piece. The construction method has the advantages that all the protective bricks are connected together through the inhaul cables, the supporting strength of the protecting slope is improved, installation is easy and convenient, and practicability is good; and the protecting slope is ensured to be firmly fixed and not corroded by water flow.
