The invention discloses a municipal road foundation pit safety protection device. The device comprises a base plate and a supporting mechanism. The side face of the base plate is in an inverted-T shape; four sets of mounting holes are formed in the top end of the base plate in an array mode; the mounting holes are strip-shaped holes; the interior of each mounting hole is connected with the groundthrough two expansion bolts; the top end of the base plate is connected with a vertical plate through bolts; a square through hole is formed in the middle of the vertical plate; a protective net is mounted in the square through hole; and the protective net is formed by weaving stainless steel wires. The supporting mechanism comprises two sets of U-shaped connecting bases, a supporting shaft and afixed base; the two sets of U-shaped connecting bases are located on the left side and the right side of the protective net and are fixed to the rear side face of the vertical plate through bolts; andone ends of the supporting shaft are connected with the U-shaped connecting bases through bolts. The safety protection device is high in safety coefficient and high in wind resistance and can be stably fixed on the ground.
