The stay cable tensioning construction method comprises the steps: solving the standard gravity of a stay cable; solving a real-time resultant force; solving wind power borne by the stay cable; obtaining a first coordinate of the first connection point and a second coordinate ofthe second connection point; solving a linear equation of a third straight line passing through the first connecting point and the second connecting point; acquiring the coordinates of the real-time point position of the wireless remote control trolley, and solving the real-time line point axle distance of the real-time point position; solving a standard line point axle distance; obtaining the maximum value of the axle distance of the standard line points to obtain the standard sag of the stay cable; and judging whether the stay cable tensioning of the cable-stayed bridge is qualified or not according to the real-time line point axle distance and the standard sag. According to the invention, the sag of the stay cable is monitored in real time in the stay cable tensioning construction process, and the stay cable is properly loosened and tightened according to the sag, so that the harm caused by overlarge deviation between the sag of the stay cable and a target value is effectively reduced.
