The invention discloses a construction method of a light steel canopy. The construction method comprises the following steps that S1, steel plates are embedded on concrete frame columns of a main bodystructure of a building after the main body structure of the building is constructed; S2, rectangular steel pipes are welded between every two adjacent steel plates, and a plurality of canopy outriggers are welded to each rectangular steel pipe at equal intervals; S3, at least one connecting claw is welded to the multiple canopy outriggers on each rectangular steel pipe in a surveying and setting-out mode, and the connecting claws are stainless steel connecting claws; and S4, tempered glass is positioned and fixed to the connecting claws, and construction operation of the light steel canopy is completed. According to the construction method, the embedded steel plates are embedded into the main body structure of the building in a post-embedded steel bar mode, the rectangular steel pipes are welded between the embedded steel plates, rooting fixed installation of the light steel canopy is achieved, the installation stability of the light steel canopy is improved, potential safety hazardsare reduced, on-site pouring of concrete columns is avoided, the construction amount is small, the construction cost is low, and the construction period of the light steel canopy is shortened.
