The invention discloses a manhole cover protection device based on Internet of Things construction. The device comprises a manhole cover body, a manhole cover base and a manhole cover protection detection mechanism, wherein the manhole cover base is of a circular shell structure, and the manhole cover protection detection mechanism for detecting inclination of a manhole cover to prevent pedestrians from being accidentally injured is mounted in the manhole cover base. According to the manhole cover protection device, the manhole cover protection detection mechanism is additionally arranged in the manhole cover base, so that depression and inclination of the manhole cover can be detected in time, information obtained through detection is sent to related maintainers through the Internet of Things technology, the maintainers can repair and replace the manhole cover in time and accurately, and then people are prevented from being accidentally damaged when passing on the manhole cover.
