The invention relates to the field of waterproof mortar, in particular to constructional engineering roof waterproof mortar which comprises the following components: coal slag, lime, cement and yellowsand. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, material pretreatment: crushing coal slag, screening the crushed coal slag by using a screen to obtain crushed coal slag with the pore diameterof sieve pores, and screening yellow sand by using a screen to obtain yellow sand with the pore diameter of sieve pores; step 2, bottom layer material mixing: uniformly mixing the screened coal slagobtained in the step 1 with lime, wherein the screened coal slag and lime are added according to a ratio of 1: 1; and step 3, surface layer material mixing: uniformly mixing the yellow sand obtained in the step 1 with cement. The problems that an existing waterproof coating is complex in construction, time-consuming and labor-consuming, and a roof is not neat enough and has peculiar smell are solved, and the problems that a rigid roof made of a waterproof coiled material is heavy and poor in durability are also solved; the method is simple in construction, time-saving and labor-saving, durableafter being applied to the roof, and attractive after being completed.
