The invention discloses a water surface floating object cleaning unmanned ship and a floating object cleaning method thereof, and aims to solve the problem of cleaning solid floating objects such as plastic bags, mineral water bottles and the like. According to the cleaning unmanned ship, by utilizing an emerging unmanned ship technology and by additionally arranging a floating object cleaning mechanism on an unmanned ship platform, water surface floating objects are cleaned, the floating object cleaning mechanism comprises a floating object collecting device and a floating object storage device, the floating object collecting device is composed of a swing arm located on the bow of a ship body and an electric cylinder of the swing arm and mainly has the functions of enlarging the floatingobject collecting area and collecting floating objects, and the floating object storage device is composed of a floating object collecting box located in the middle of a ship body (the ship body is ofa catamaran structure) and an electric cylinder of the floating object collecting box and is responsible for storing and transferring floating objects collected by the swing arm. According to the unmanned ship platform and the floating object cleaning mechanism thereof, the reasonable cleaning method is adopted, the floating objects on the water surface can be effectively cleaned, and the purposeof water surface environmental protection is achieved.
