The invention provides a protection structure for excavating a foundation pit overpass existing tunnel and a construction method thereof. The protection structure comprises a plurality of uplift piles, two top beams and a plurality of supporting steel pipes, wherein the uplift piles are arranged in two rows, the two rows of uplift piles are correspondingly and vertically arranged on the two sidesof the existing tunnel, the arrangement direction of the uplift piles in each row is consistent with the length direction of the tunnel, and a gap is formed between every two adjacent uplift piles ineach row; one top beam is arranged at the top of each row of uplift piles, and one top beam is connected with all uplift piles in one row; and the multiple supporting steel pipes are all transverselyarranged above the existing tunnel, the two ends of each supporting steel pipe are correspondingly connected with the two top beams, the multiple supporting steel pipes are arranged in sequence, and every two adjacent supporting steel pipes are connected to enable the multiple supporting steel pipes to form an overall reinforced structure. According to the technical scheme, the protection structure for excavating the foundation pit overpass existing tunnel is suitable for overpass foundation pit construction of various stratums; and the deformation of rail transit and municipal pipelines can be effectively controlled, and the construction cost is reduced.
