The invention provides a preparation method of a coal gangue brick, which comprises the following steps: S1, selecting raw materials, namely selecting a mixed raw material composed of 25-75 wt% of coal gangue and 25-75 wt% of shale; s2, crushing the raw materials; s3, filtering by a screen; s4, repeatedly crushing the mixed raw materials; s5, aging: putting the raw materials filtered in the S3 into a drying chamber for aging treatment; s6, diluting and stirring: adding water to dilute and stir the qualified raw materials; s7, extruding by a brick machine: extruding and molding the diluted anduniformly stirred raw materials by a brick extruding machine; s8,slitting and stacking blanks, slittingmud strips obtained in the S7 into strips through a strip cutting machine; s9, drying, specifically, conveying the mud strips cut in the step S8 to a drying chamber together through a movable tray; and S10, roasting, specifically, conveying the dried mud strips to a roasting chamber through the movable tray. The raw materials are crushed many times and sufficiently pulverized, the raw materials are sufficiently stirred with water, and a stable internal structure is formed.
