The invention discloses a self-climbing type installation system of a steel cable tower. The self-climbing type installation system comprises a self-climbing assembly, a hoisting assembly attached tothe self-climbing assembly and a power assembly installed on the hoisting assembly. The self-climbing assembly comprises a rail attached to the surface of the steel cable tower and a climbing assemblysliding on the rail. The hoisting assembly comprises a climbing frame, a hoisting truss arranged at the top of the climbing frame and a moving trolley arranged on the top face of the hoisting truss and used for pulling a lifting appliance. The climbing frame is connected to the climbing assembly in a bolted mode. And the power assembly is arranged on the hoisting truss and used for executing hoisting and translation procedures. The self-climbing type mounting system is used for mounting the steel pylon, so that the butt joint precision of the steel pylon is controlled, the butt joint adjustability of the steel pylon is improved, the operation difficulty and complexity in the construction process are reduced, and the construction safety is also improved.
