The invention belongs to the technical field of thermal insulation materials, and discloses a preparation method of an aluminum oxide and silicon oxide aerogel thermal insulation composite material. According to the preparation method, aluminum oxide and silicon oxide sol taking water as a solvent and inorganic ceramic fibers are used as reinforcing phases; the alumina-silica aerogel thermal insulation composite material with high temperature resistance, low thermal conductivity and high strength is prepared through six process steps of simple preparation of a fiber prefabricated part, preparation of alumina-silica sol, vacuum impregnation, gel aging, hydrothermal auxiliary drying and drying. According to the preparation method of the material, raw materials without organic aluminum/inorganic aluminum/organic silicon compounds are adopted, no organic solvent is replaced in the preparation process, no flammable and explosive ethanol solvent is used as a drying medium, the raw materialsand the preparation process are environmentally friendly and safe, the manufacturing cost is low, and batch production and large-scale application are easy.
