The invention discloses a method for preparing quartz ceramic by taking waste quartz glass as a raw material. The method specifically comprises the following steps: cleaning and crushing the waste quartz glass, and screening large quartz glass particles, fine quartz glass sand and quartz glass powder; granulating the fine quartz glass sand and kaolin suspension to obtain a granulated material; putting the quartz glass powder into a ball milling tank, adding water and an additive, and carrying out ball milling to prepare quartz slurry; adding the large quartz glass particles, the granulated material, the fine quartz glass sand and auxiliary materials into the quartz slurry, stirring and mixing at a high speed, vacuumizing and aging to form pug, and preparing a quartz ceramic green body through an extrusion molding process; and drying and calcining the quartz ceramic green body to obtain the quartz ceramic. The quartz ceramic prepared by the method is low in porosity, compact in structure and relatively high in mechanical property.
