The invention relates to a fastener dismounting and recycling device capable of achieving self-positioning, and an operation method thereof. The device is an independent operation unit and is located in a rapid moving circulation system. The device comprises a rack (1), idler wheels (2), a transverse adjusting mechanism (5), a wrench seat (6), a wrench assembly (7), a fastener picking mechanism (8), a battery (9) and an electric control module (10); the four idler wheels (2) are distributed on the two side faces of the rack (1); a steel rail locking mechanism (3) is arranged on the rack (1) and can lock the device and a steel rail after self-positioning of the steel rail locking mechanism and a target fastener is completed; a vertical lifting mechanism (4) is arranged between the rack (1) and the transverse adjusting mechanism (5), so that the transverse adjusting mechanism (5) can stay at different stations in the vertical direction, and positioning, dismounting and picking of fasteners are completed; the battery (9) provides energy required by the whole set of operation device; and the electric control module (10) controls the whole device to complete dismounting and recycling tasks of the fastener.
