The invention relates to a bridge floor steel bar protective layer construction method which comprises a concrete base layer, a checking mechanism and a steel bar protective layer. The checking mechanism comprises a rack and a datum batten; the two sides, in the width direction of a bridge, of the concrete base layer are each provided with an elevation belt of a concrete structure extending in the length direction of the bridge; the steel bar protective layer is located between the two elevation belts, so that the two ends of the rack are supported on the elevation belts to move in the length direction of the bridge deck, and the gap between the upper surface of the steel bar protective layer and the datum batten is observed in the moving process to judge whether the steel bar protective layer is sunken or not; and when the steel bar protective layer is sunken, the sunken part is lifted until the sunken depth meets the requirement, and then the sunken part is fixed, so that the sunken part is kept in the state that the depth meets the requirement. The method has the advantages that the flatness of the reinforcing mesh can be conveniently obtained and corrected, and the problem that the flatness of the reinforcing mesh of the surface reinforcing protective layer cannot be conveniently obtained and corrected is solved.
