The invention discloses a locking assembly. The locking assembly comprises a knob, a driving gear mechanism and a driven gear mechanism, wherein, one end of the driving gear mechanism is connected with the knob, the other end of the driving gear mechanism comprises a driving gear, and the driving gear mechanism is configured to rotate along with rotation of the knob; and the driven gear mechanism comprises a rotating pin and a driven piece, the rotating pin is rotationally connected to the center of the driven piece, one end of the driven piece comprises a driven gear, the other end of the driven piece is provided with a plurality of grooves used for positioning, and the driven gear is meshed with the driving gear. The invention further discloses a cover plate comprising the locking assembly. According to the locking assembly and cover plate comprising the same, the locking or unlocking of an upper cover plate of a case is realized in a knob mode, no tool is used, no extra space is occupied, and the competitiveness of the product is improved.
