The invention relates to a bridge pier protection structure of a road bridge, and the structure comprises a cylinder I which is fixedly sleeved at the lower part of a bridge pier; a cylinder II which is made of a rubber material and is arranged on the outer ring of the cylinder in a sleeving manner; a buffer device which is arranged between the outer ring of the cylinder I and the inner ring of the cylinder II and comprises an annular supporting body which is arranged on the inner ring of the cylinder II in a sleeving manner, wherein the inner ring of the annular supporting body is connected with the outer ring of the cylinder I through an annular piece so that an annular gap is formed between the supporting body and the cylinder I, and a plurality of guide holes are uniformly formed in the supporting body; a supporting rod which penetrates through the guide hole, wherein one end of the supporting rod is connected with the outer ring of the cylinder I through an elastic piece I; and a supporting plate which is arc-shaped, wherein the outer arc surface of the supporting plate is connected with the inner ring of the cylinder II, and the inner arc surface of the supporting plate is connected with one end, deviating from the elastic piece I, of the supporting rod through a universal joint. According to the structure, through multiple buffering effects, automobile collision energy is absorbed, so that the bridge pier is protected, damage to an automobile and people in the automobile is reduced, and the structure is worthy of popularization.
