The invention discloses a vehicle automatic door opening anti-collision device and method for detecting surrounding obstacles on the basis that a rear-view camera and a projection lamp serve as main sensors. The vehicle automatic door opening anti-collision device comprises a vehicle door; a projection lamp which is used for irradiating projection light to the periphery of the vehicle door; a rear-view camera which is used for acquiring image data containing projection light; an image processing module which is used for acquiring data transmitted by the camera, calculating and processing the data and analyzing whether an obstacle exists on a door opening movement track; a control unit which obtains analysis data and calculates the safety angle of vehicle door opening; and a vehicle door actuator which opens the vehicle door to a specified angle position according to an instruction of the control unit.
