The invention relates to the technical field of highway construction equipment, and provides a highway widening grooving machine which comprises a walking frame, an oil tank, a generator set and a grooving mechanism, the grooving mechanism is arranged in the middle of the upper end of the walking frame in a horizontal longitudinal moving mode, and the generator set is arranged on the right portion of the upper end of the walking frame. The grooving mechanism comprises a grooving machine frame, a lifting mechanism, a horizontal longitudinal moving mechanism, a driving mechanism, a spindle box, a grooving cutter head and a cutter, and the grooving machine frame is arranged in the middle of the upper end of the walking frame in a horizontal longitudinal and vertical lifting mode through the lifting mechanism and the horizontal longitudinal moving mechanism; and the driving mechanism and the spindle box are arranged on the grooving machine frame, the output end of the driving mechanism is in transmission connection with the grooving cutter head through the spindle box, the tool bit mounting face of the grooving cutter head is parallel to the vertical side edge of the walking frame, and the grooving cutter head is located on the outer side of the middle of the walking frame. The problems that an existing highway pavement widening water-stable layer is low in construction efficiency and slow in construction are solved.
