The invention provides a single-cylinder-driven mechanical grab bucket and an operation machine. The grab bucket comprises a plurality of claw bodies which are connected to the same driving cylinder and evenly arranged in the circumferential direction of the driving cylinder, and the driving cylinder can drive the claw bodies to be synchronously opened or closed through telescopic motion; and limiting mechanisms connected between the driving cylinder and the claw bodies. According to the grab bucket, the claw bodies can synchronously rotate relative to the axial extension line of the driving cylinder in the opening or closing process through the limiting mechanisms, and the opening angles and the closing angles of the claw bodies are synchronously limited, so that it is guaranteed that the driving cylinder can control the claw bodies to be opened and closed synchronously in the stretching and retracting process. In addition, the axial extension line of the driving cylinder is used as the center line of the claw bodies in the opening and closing process, so that each claw body is prevented from deflecting in the opening and closing process, the accurate grabbing position of the grab bucket is ensured, the grabbing force is optimized, the overall stress of the grab bucket is simplified, and the structural stability of the grab bucket is improved.
