The invention discloses an autoclaved aerated brick and a preparation method thereof. The autoclaved aerated brick is made from cement, quick lime, aluminum powder paste, gypsum, sulfur fixation ash, sulfur fixation slag, reinforced fibers, dimethyl silicone oil and diatomite with the average particle size of less than or equal to 76.4 [mu]m. The environment-friendly effect is achieved by utilizing waste materials, and meanwhile, the dimethicone is adsorbed by taking the diatomite as a carrier, so that the dimethicone is uniformly distributed in the autoclaved aerated brick to achieve the overall hydrophobic effect. The technical problem that an existing autoclaved aerated brick is poor in waterproof and hydrophobic effect is solved.
