The invention discloses a method for preparing mullite composite ceramic by low-temperature sintering of bauxite tailings and potassium feldspar, belonging to the technical fields of high-value utilization of tailings and ceramic preparation. According to the invention, bauxite tailings, potassium feldspar, bauxite clinker and lithium chinastone are adopted as main raw materials and are subjected to batching, ball milling, drying, forming and treatment via a low-temperature sintering process so as to obtain a mullite composite ceramic material. When the mullite composite ceramic is prepared by sintering the bauxite tailings and the potassium feldspar at low temperature, the additive amount of the bauxite tailings is high, a preparation process is simple, and cost is relatively low; and potassium feldspar and lithium chinastone are added, so a sintering temperature can be reduced, energy consumption is reduced, and the compressive strength and density of the product can be improved. A new thought is provided for comprehensive application of the bauxite tailings, and the method has profound economic value and environmental protection significance.
