The invention relates to the technical field of bridge seismic resistance, in particular to a longitudinal anti-seismic stop block for a flexible pier bridge and a design method. The longitudinal anti-seismic stop block is installed between a transition pier cover beam and a main beam of the flexible pier bridge, and the longitudinal anti-seismic stop block comprises a steel box stop block, an anchor plate, an anchor bar and a rubber cushion block; the transition pier cover beam is connected with the steel box stop block through the anchor plate, or the anchor plate and the anchor bar; and the rubber cushion block is attached to the upper portion of the steel box check block. The longitudinal anti-seismic blocking part enables a transition pier to participate in earthquake resistance and consume earthquake energy under the action of a strong earthquake of the type of bridge, so that the bridge is ensured not to have a beam falling problem.
