HONEYCOMB STRUCTURE AND EXHAUST GAS PURGING DEVICE
Provided are a honeycomb structure and an exhaust gas purging device that are capable of burning off and removing carbon particulates through electric heating and that exhibit suppression of increase in pressure loss. This columnar honeycomb structure has: porous partition walls that demarcate and form a plurality of cells serving as flow channels for a fluid and each extending from an inflow end surface being the end surface of the fluid inflow side to an outflow end surface being the end surface of the fluid outflow side; and an outer peripheral wall located at the outermost periphery. The cells include: a plurality of cells A that are each open on the fluid inflow side and each have an opening-sealed part at the end surface of the fluid outflow side; and a plurality of cells B that are alternately arranged with respect to the cells A, are each opened on the fluid outflow side, and each have an opening-sealed part at the end surface of the fluid inflow side. One or both of the opening-sealed part of each of the cells A and the opening-sealed part of each of the cells B include a magnetic body.
