The invention provides a drive system of a work machine, a control method and the work machine. The drive system comprises a fuel oil drive mechanism, a motor, a hydraulic oil pump and a control device. The output end of the fuel oil drive mechanism is selectively in dynamic coupling connection with the motor. The input end of the hydraulic oil pump is in dynamic coupling connection with the output end of the motor, and the output end of the hydraulic oil pump is used for being in dynamic coupling connection with a work mechanism of the work machine. The control device is electrically connected with the fuel oil drive mechanism, the motor and the hydraulic oil pump. The drive system comprises a plug-in work mode, and in the plug-in work mode, the control device is set to control the output end of the fuel oil drive mechanism to be disconnected from the motor and control working parameters of the motor based on the required power of the work machine. When the drive system is in the plug-in work mode, the working parameters of the motor are controlled based on the required power of the work machine, electric work of the work machine is achieved, external electric energy distribution is accurately controlled, and the energy utilization rate is increased.
