A refractory material for coal mines belongs to the technical field of refractory materials and comprises, by weight, 40-45 parts of rock wool powder, 29-32 parts of brucite powder, 17-20 parts of vesuvianite powder, 13-15 parts of zinc oxide, 10-12 parts of coal pitch powder, 39-43 parts of anhydrous silicone oil, 4-5 parts of magnesium sulfate, 4-7 parts of aluminum hydroxide, 3-4 parts of carbon fibers, 2-3 parts of calcium hydroxide and 12-14 parts of concentrated sulfuric acid with a concentration of 98%. The preparation method of the refractory material comprises the following steps: primary mixing, brucite powder modification with carbon fibers, secondary mixing, surface spraying and high-temperature calcination. The refractoriness of the refractory material can reach 1800-1850 DEG C, the coal cinder erosion resistance can reach 1.2-1.8 mm, and the thermal shock resistance [1100 DEG C * water cooling] can reach 90-95 times.
