The invention relates to an ecological spur dike with an adjustable permeable rate and a working method thereof. The ecological spur dike comprises a dike body, one side of the dike body is fixedly connected to a river bank, a lower portion of the dike body is fixedly connected to a riverbed, the dike body is perpendicular to the river bank and the riverbed, the dike body comprises a rectangular frame body, and a shutter gate with an adjustable opening degree is arranged in a middle part of the rectangular frame body; and ecological net cages are arranged on an upstream side and a downstream side of the dike body, and filter screens are arranged between the ecological net cages and the dike body. The provided ecological spur dike with an adjustable permeable rate has a reasonable design and a simple structure, is convenient to construct and easy to maintain, has low manufacturing cost, and can adapt to changes of water flows in flood periods and dry periods of most rivers by controlling the opening degree of the shutter gate of the dike body; and the ecological net cages are arranged, an eutrophication degree of a water body can be reduced, biodiversity of a riverway is protected, an aesthetic feeling of the riverway is increased, and requirements of most riverways for water level control and ecology protection are met.
