The invention belongs to the technical field of municipal gardens, and particularly relates to a drainage system for a municipal garden. The drainage system comprises drainage grooves, water passing pipes and pipe covers, wherein the drainage grooves are obliquely formed in the two sides of a road surface, a set of water passing pipes are evenly arranged at the bottoms of the drainage grooves, the pipe covers are rotationally connected with the tops of the water passing pipes, and the bottoms of the water passing pipes communicate with a sewer. Flowing rainwater is impacted on the surface of the pipe cover, on one hand, the rainwater impacting the surface of the pipe cover is accelerated to pass through water passing grooves, and the amount of the flowing rainwater is further reduced; and on the other hand, the impact of flowing rainwater on the first rod changes continuously, a first plate swings up and down under the impact action of strength changes, dead leaf garbage attached to water passing grooves is further removed, and smoothness of the water passing grooves is guaranteed.
