The invention relates to a pedestrian path gate system and an explosive detection method. The pedestrian path gate system, which is applied to a pedestrian path gate, comprises a sampling device, a conveying device and a detection device, wherein the sampling device is used for carrying out contact sampling on a person to be detected and obtaining a detection sample, and when the person to be detected passes through the pedestrian path gate, the sampling device is in contact with a preset position of the person to be detected; the conveying device is used for conveying the detection sample to the detection device; and the detection device is used for carrying out explosive molecule detection on the detection sample to obtain a detection result. A carrier suppression circuit comprises a phase converter. According to the pedestrian path gate system and the explosive detection method, security personnel do not need to be additionally arranged for sampling, and security personnel do not need to be additionally arranged for putting detection samples into a detector, so that the waste of human resources is reduced; and the security personnel do not need to directly sample to-be-inspected personnel, the dislike of the to-be-inspected personnel are not easily caused, and the security inspection experience of the to-be-inspected personnel is improved.
