The invention discloses a bridge reinforcing and maintaining device which comprises two pieces of expansion joint profile steel symmetrically arranged at the two sides of an expansion joint gap and is characterized in that a lower steel plate and an upper steel plate are sequentially arranged on the upper portion of the expansion joint profile steel from bottom to top, and the upper steel plate, the lower steel plate and the expansion joint profile steel are fixedly connected through connecting bolts; and the bottom of the upper steel plate is provided with a first zigzag contact surface, the top of the lower steel plate is provided with a second zigzag contact surface which is matched with the first zigzag contact surface in a staggered mode, empty grooves are formed between the expansion joint profile steel located on the two sides, between the lower steel plates and between the upper steel plates, and elastic waterproof filling pieces are fixedly arranged in the empty grooves in an adhesive mode. The bridge reinforcing and maintaining device has the advantages that normal compression of the expansion joint is achieved by compressing or stretching the elastic waterproof filling pieces in the empty grooves, solid waste is isolated from entering the expansion joint, the zigzag connecting faces which are matched in a staggered mode are arranged between the upper steel plate and the lower steel plate, and certain structural stability can be kept continuously when connecting bolts fall off accidentally.
