The invention relates to the technical field of building foundation bearing capacity load tests, in particular to a foundation load test device and a test method thereof. The foundation load test device comprises a bearing plate, a jack, a counter-force assembly, a test host and a plurality of measurement assemblies, the bearing plate is placed on a foundation to be detected, and a plurality of data acquisition points are uniformly distributed on the surface of the bearing plate; the jack is arranged at the central position of the bearing plate; the counter-force assembly is arranged on the jack and used for providing counter-force loaded by the jack; the measuring assemblies are in one-to-one correspondence to the data acquisition points; and the test host is in wireless connection with the measurement assemblies and is used for receiving and processing related data collected by the measurement assemblies to obtain a test curve. According to the device, manpower, material resources and time are saved, visual test result display can be brought to a user, the working efficiency is improved, and the detection period of an actual project is shortened.
