The invention discloses a leveling assembly and a mounting method thereof, and relates to the technical field of building decoration. The leveling assembly comprises a fixed keel and a leveling keel; the fixed keel comprises a first vertical batten and a first horizontal batten which are connected; the leveling keel comprises a fixed strip, a second horizontal batten and a third horizontal batten; the second horizontal batten and the third horizontal batten are connected to the inner side of the fixed strip in a spaced mode and define an inserting groove with the fixed strip; the first vertical batten is fixed to a base layer wall; and the first horizontal batten is inserted into the inserting groove in a matched mode and is fixedly connected with the second horizontal batten and the third horizontal batten through a row of bolts arranged in the length direction of the first horizontal batten. According to the leveling assembly and the mounting method thereof, the perpendicularity of a wall surface of an assembly type wall surface system can be improved.
