The invention discloses a multi-layer ecological protection and restoration method for a rural river channel. The multi-layer ecological protection and restoration method is characterized in that more than one overflow dam is arranged on the river channel; the overflow dam comprises a concrete layer arranged on a riverbed substrate, a first pebble layer is arranged on the outer side of the concrete layer, and a second pebble layer is arranged on the top of the concrete layer; a sand soil layer is arranged on the outer side of the first pebble layer, stone arch-shaped components are arranged on the outer side of the sand soil layer, and submerged plants are planted on the outer side of the sand soil layer; a vegetation ecological concrete layer is arranged on the periphery of the second pebble layer, and emergent plants are planted on the vegetation ecological concrete layer; a grid curtain is arranged on the stone arch-shaped components and the vegetation ecological concrete layer; and then more than one gabion and gravel layer are arranged at the downstream position of the overflow dam side by side, a soil layer is arranged on the gravel layer, and submerged plants are planted on the gravel layer. An ecological riverbed water retaining component is arranged on the riverbed, ecological and biological diversity is gradually improved, and the ecological protection and restoration effect of the rural river channel is improved.
