The method comprises the following steps: dispersing the main filler, the auxiliary filler and the binder which are weighed in parts by weight by using a dispersion machine to obtain a mixture; adding chopped fibers into the mixture, and stirring by using a dispersion machine at room temperature to obtain a nano thermal insulation material; injecting the nanometer heat preservation material into an interlayer between the water heater inner container and a specially-made integrally-formed mold, carrying out heating and steam curing, finally, carrying out mold opening, and obtaining the nanometer heat preservation material interlayer of the water heater.
