A DMAAPA/IA copolymer is added into cement paste, the initial consistency of the cement paste of the copolymer is reduced, the high-temperature and high-pressure thickening time is remarkably prolonged, the consistency of the cement paste is almost unchanged in the pressure and temperature rising process, the low viscosity is always maintained, thus the copolymer has good temperature resistance and pressure resistance, and can well cementation construction under the high temperature condition, and the normal hydration state of the cement particle surface is interfered due to the adsorption of the retarder so as to inhibit or partially inhibit the generation of calcium hydroxide and the growth of crystal nucleus during the cement hydration, the hydration induction period of cement is prolonged, resulting in delayed setting, and the copolymer is adsorbed on the surfaces of cement particles to inhibit the coagulation of the cement particles, and thus the hydration and structure formation of the cement are delayed, and the copolymer can also be adsorbed on the crystal surface of a new phase to further prevent the structure formation so as to play a role in retarding.
