The invention discloses a long-distance rail gauge automatic measuring device which comprises an installation adjusting mechanism (1) arranged above a rail (2) and used for installing a light source system (3) and an image acquisition device (4), the light source system (3) arranged on the installation adjusting mechanism (1) and used for emitting light to the rail (2), an image collecting device (4) which is arranged on the installation adjusting mechanism (3) and used for collecting image information of light rays irradiated by the light source system (3) on the surface of the rail (2) and the nearby environment and transmitting the image information to the image processing unit (5), and the image processing unit (5) which is used for receiving the image information collected by the image collecting device (4) and calculating the rail distance of the rail (2) according to the image information. The long-distance rail gauge automatic measuring device can detect the gauge under the condition that normal operation of rail traffic is not affected, and the detection efficiency is improved.
